Critiques
The reference image you used for the background does not match the lighting for the figure, either. Though this sort of image is difficult to execute (combining two different reference points into a single image), more can be done to make the figure seem a little more "at home".
The white sleeve blends into the background quite a bit and there could have been something done to differentiate it from the lighter slivers of color in the background, but it does tie it together in a way that is quite successful.
The red cross as the focal point is very alluring and the balance of extreme light and dark in the figure is very eyecatching. Combined with the neutral shade of the background, it's a very appealing image.
The confusion lies in whether or not photorealism was desired.
